Helstu verkefni og ábyrgð

-undirbúningur á hráefni fyrir daginn
-Vera skapandi í hugsun og ófeimin að koma með nýjar hugmyndir
-Viðhalda og framfylgja metnaði í starfi

-Tryggja gæði og hreinlæti í eldhúsi

- Undirbúa, elda og framreiða réttina samkvæmt gæðastöðlum og framsetningu veitingastaðarins
- Aðstoða við þróun matseðils með því að leggja til hugmyndir fyrir sérrétti dagsins og árstíðabundna rétti
- Tryggja að allt mise en place sé nákvæmt og tilbúið fyrir opnun
- Halda ströngum matvælaöryggis-, hreinlætis- og sóttvarnastöðlum á þínu svæði
- Fylgjast með birgðastöðu á þinni stöð, tilkynna um skort og aðstoða við birgðaröðun
- Vinna náið með aðstoðarkokki og yfirkokki til að tryggja rétta tímasetningu, samræmi og hnökralaust vinnuflæði

-Menntun sem nýtist í starfi eða þriggja ára reynsla í starfi

Um vaktavinnu að ræða , 2-2-3 vaktir eða 5 daga vaktakerfi þar sem eina viku er unnið dagvakt 9:00-16:30 eða 17:00-lokun.

GOTT – job opening

GOTT in Vestmannaeyjar, Southern Iceland is looking for staff. We want ambitious, driven, and happy staff to join our kitchen team.

GOTT is a popular, well-liked restaurant in Vestmannaeyjar run by the same owners from the beginning. The restaurant is owned by former national team chef Sigurður F. Gíslason & his wife Berglind Sigmarsdóttir .The restaurant has grown a lot over the years and now we need extra staff in the kitchen.

GOTT inspires to make good and healthy food from scratch, fresh ingredients and daily delivered fish from local fish market. We make our own fresh pasta and ice cream. We welcome new ideas and our goal is to serve exciting new dishes combined with our local favourites.

Chef Main tasks and responsibilities

-Preparation of ingredients for the day

-Being creative in thinking and unafraid to bring new ideas

-Prepare, cook, and present dishes within your assigned section to the restaurant’s quality and presentation standards

-Manage a assigned station and ensure it operates smoothly during service.

- Assist in menu development by offering ideas for specials and seasonal dishes.

-Ensure all mise en place is completed accurately and on time for each service period.

- Maintain strict food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards in your section.

- Monitor stock levels for your station, report shortages, and assist with stock rotation.

- Work closely with the Sous Chef and Head Chef to ensure timing, consistency, and smooth workflow.

-Help control waste and portion sizes to meet food cost targets

-Maintain a clean, organized workstation at all times.


Qualifications and skills

- Education relevant to the job or three years of work experience

-Demonstrates a positive, professional, and team-focused attitude in a fast-paced environment.

-Takes pride in delivering high-quality dishes and consistently meeting standards.

-Reliable, punctual, and committed to maintaining high work ethics.

-Able to stay calm under pressure and adapt quickly during busy service periods

-Displays a proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement

-Eager to learn, open to feedback, and motivated to grow within the kitchen team

-Maintains a clean, organized, and respectful work style at all times.

Wages are according to the union agreement
We work either on 2-2-3 shifts or 5-day rotation where one week you work morning until 16:30 and the other week from 17:00 - closing.


We can assist with housing if needed and we offer staff meals while at work.
