Welcome to Black Crust Pizzeria - a bucket list experience Iceland.
Exciting pizza restaurant in Vík in the beautiful surroundings of the black sand beach. We serve quality pizzas, black crust, sour dough or gluten free.
Black Crust Pizzeria was created by a collaboration of a few of the restauranters and visionaries of Vík as a passion project. We wanted to create a unique pizza experience in Vík. Up until a few years ago, Vík was a quiet town that only had one restaurant. Today it’s the most visited town of Iceland and us locals take that challenge with pride and continue to create great experiences for their visitors. That was the goal of Black Crust Pizzeria from the beginning. We have since then become one of the busiest restaurants in Iceland.
Our signature black pizzas are inspired by the Black Sand Beaches located on the south coast of Iceland. We use activated charcoal to make our dough the color of volcanic ash, and we do it all in-house.
We are currently looking for full time summer season employees to join our team! This is an ad for a temporary position until the end of summer season with a possibility of extension.
We share our responsibilites at BCP. Our team is trained on multiple different stations and works at different areas of the restaurant. We have chefs, cashiers, dishwashers, runners, but the whole team knows bits and pieces of each station, like prepping items in the morning, putting ingredients on pizzas, dishwashing, etc.
We aim to have fun and enjoyable shifts where you don't get stuck doing one thing for the whole day - that's why we're looking for someone with great communication skills and someone's who's a great team player.
As we are one of the busiest restaurants in the country, the work flow needs to be very well organised with everyone helping each other, being respectful and with the best customer service approach possible.
Beginning of work 26th of June 2025 for an individual and 24th of July 2025 for a couple.
Mainly 2-2-3 system, shifts start 10:45 until 22:00.
We provide accommodation (paid room at our staff houses).
Wages according to the current Collective Agreement.
- Working the till (cashier)
- Running food
- Bussing tables
- Pizza Chef
- Topping and finishing pizzas
- Making the pizza dough
- Dishwashing
- Prepping items (cutting vegetables, preparing sauces, all according to our special recipies)
- Making sure items and dishes are prepared accordinly to company guidelines
- Attention to food safety
- Keeping the working place and restaurant clean and tidy
We do not require experience, but the following skills would be a plus:
- Experience working with cashier/till, handling money
- Waitering
- Customer service in English
- Working under pressure
- Adaptability and flexibility (someone who can jump in wherever needed)
- Food prep
- Any PoS experience
- Multitasking
- Organizational skills
