Destination Expert
As a Destination Expert, you will join our dynamic sales team comprised of knowledgeable professionals with in-depth expertise in the Nordic destinations we offer, including Iceland, Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Finland, the Faroe Islands, and Greenland. Your focus will be on providing personalized recommendations, insider insights, and expert advice to craft bespoke travel itineraries tailored to the unique needs and interests of our exceptional clients.
Main tasks and responsibilities
- Respond to inquiries and emails promptly, adhering to the company’s established guidelines.
- Design bespoke travel itineraries and prepare detailed quotations for clients traveling to our destinations.
- Ensure efficient and timely communication with agents at every stage of the planning process.
- Manage financial aspects of each project, including billing, invoicing, and commission-related documentation.
- Take on additional responsibilities as needed to support the team and maintain operational excellence.
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with existing and new business partners.
Educational and skill requirements
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
- Be passionate about travel and delivering exceptional service.
- Prior knowledge and experience in the travel industry is highly preferred.
- Excellent organizational skills and a strong attention to detail.
- Excel at managing multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
- Thrive in a dynamic work environment, with adaptability to handle extended hours during peak travel periods.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure.
- Candidates must reside in Iceland, be eligible to work in Iceland, as it is an in-office role.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
- Experience in a similar role is highly preferred. Specifically in customer service or travel-related positions.
- Familiarity with travel logistics, including bookings, hotel coordination, and restaurant reservations.
- Knowledge of Iceland and other Nordic countries tourism industry is a plus.
- Proficiency in handling communication tools and booking systems.
