Campsite Agent

Reykjavík Eco Campsite is looking for a reliable, service-minded and independent individual to join our team in Laugardalur, Reykjavík.

This is a varied and hands-on role where you will be involved in the daily operation of the campsite and help us create a clean, welcoming and enjoyable environment for guests from all over the world.

As a Campsite Agent, you will assist guests, take care of shared facilities and outdoor areas, and make sure the campsite is clean, tidy and running smoothly. We are looking for someone who notices what needs to be done, takes initiative, and is comfortable working independently.

Good English skills are essential, as our guests come from all over the world.

Applicants must currently live in Iceland and have the legal right to work in Iceland.

    Working hours

    This is a full-time, shift-based position, generally 6 hours per day, 6 days per week. Working hours and shift patterns may vary during the summer season depending on activity at the campsite. This is a permanent position.

    Main Responsibilities
    • Welcoming guests and providing information and assistance
    • Cleaning and maintaining shared facilities and common areas
    • Monitoring the campsite and outdoor areas to ensure they are clean, tidy and well maintained
    • Managing waste and recycling stations
    • Organising and maintaining the campsite's swap shelf
    • Monitoring bookings and payments and following up with guests when needed
    • Guiding guests to suitable pitches for campervans, motorhomes and caravans
    • Carrying out light gardening, cleaning and maintenance tasks
    • Supporting other day-to-day tasks related to the operation of the campsite

    Reykjavík Eco Campsite is located in Laugardalur, next to Reykjavík's largest geothermal swimming pool and HI Hostel, while still being within easy reach of the city centre. It is a popular base for travellers exploring Iceland, whether they are heading into the highlands, setting off on a trek or spending time in Reykjavík.

    The campsite holds the Vakinn Quality Label and places a strong emphasis on sustainability and responsible tourism. Guests have access to a guest kitchen, self-service laundry, Wi-Fi, recycling stations and travel information, as well as convenient pick-up services for excursions and transport to the Icelandic highlands.
