Designer - Iceland

We are seeking a designer with a passion for health to design the next generation of SidekickHealth’s mobile technology and build engaging user experiences for our clients.

As a core member of our product team, you will help us transform behavioural science into user-friendly applications that guide people towards a healthier life. You will work in a fast-paced environment, collaborating closely with internal teams to create easy-to-use products across multiple platforms.

We expect you to have an evolved understanding of how people use their devices, the flexibility to adapt to new technologies, and a robust toolkit. To be successful in the designer role, you should have experience with design software and wireframe tools. You will need to manage responsibilities including gathering user requirements, designing graphic elements and building navigation components.

SidekickHealth is a health tech company that helps people prevent and manage lifestyle-related diseases, such as type 2 diabetes and other chronic conditions. Our team includes medical doctors, behavioural experts, designers, developers, and sales and marketing professionals. We are a growing company that has established itself in the health sector, and we are looking for an ambitious and driven person to join our team.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Support the entire application lifecycle and development process (definition, design, build, test, release, and maintenance)
  • Develop intuitive,engaging interactions and visual designs for web and mobile
  • Provide strategic thinking and leadership in the creation of our products
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams throughout the design process
  • Be an expert on the latest standards, changes, trends in mobile design and technology
  • Bring creative UX ideas and inspiration from analogous worlds


  • Proven work experience as a web and/or mobile application designer
  • Strong graphic design skills, with a good understanding of typography and intuitive layouts
  • Ability to recognize and predict use-cases and user interaction, including happy path, edge and corner cases, and incorporate them into designs
  • Excellent knowledge of UX design for mobile and the web, technology trends, demonstrable design skills, and ability to show relevant work
  • Experience working cross-functionally 
  • Ability to perform both in a team environment and independently
  • A bachelor’s or higher degree in interaction design, human-computer interaction, cognitive science or related field
  • Fluent in written and spoken English
