CBT for Depression: An Integrated Approach
In cooperation with the Icelandic Association of CBT
The workshop is a part of the specialized program in cognitive behavioral therapy. Taught in English.
This workshop will explore an integrated approach to the treatment of depression. In this context, integrated means drawing on 1st, 2nd and 3rd wave CBT therapies so that individual patients have an emphasis on experimentation, activation, acceptance, compassion and/or mindfulness to the degree needed to overcome their particular mood disorder.
Integration is achieved using a self-regulation model of depression that views depression as a consequence of self-identity disruption with associated dysregulation of motivation, action, reflection, memory and goal-orientation systems.
